Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood situated in the West Island of Montreal is something you could call a "sleepy" place. The people who aren't familiar with this term frequently think that it's a separate island somewhere in the west of Montreal however, it's a part of the city that's west. West Island is home to every aspect of Lachine west to the city of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel's birthplace has been frequently referenced, however her brief time in the city did not last long. Brugel grew to be a young woman within Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. Early ambitions were to become a dancer. Then, a growth rate increased her height and she outgrew all of the dance partners she was able to have. In an article from the Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6 feet one inch. When I reached the height of the size of my male friends and stopped dancing, I quit. Many former dancers turn into acting. In the case of Brugel, it was the nudge of an instructor in drama at high school who led her in the right direction. One of her teachers suggested she try out for a school play. The audition was successful and she was chosen in the role of Anne of Green Gables. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she enrolled in York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. The career of Brugel spans more than 20 years and she's appeared in 60 different productions including big screen productions and on smaller ones. Her most recognizable role was the one of Rita (pictured in the below photo) on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the character Rita in the Handmaid's Tale which was filmed over ten years ago.
